Army Veteran, Harmar Ambassador, and Adaptive Athlete
Twila Adams is a former U.S. Army non-commissioned officer, award-winning adaptive sports athlete, and Harmar Mobility brand ambassador. She joined the Army in 1980 and served as an NCO in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, before leaving the military in 1991 due to medical issues. In 1994, she broke her C4 and C5 vertebrae in a car accident, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down. Doctors told her she would never walk again; however, through intense therapy, she’s regained partial use of her arms and right leg. In 2002, she became an adaptive athlete and continues to travel across the country, competing in several wheelchair sports.
