VPL with Enclosure Kit
Platform Lift
- Homes (Residential)
- Commercial
Enclosing a VPL with a hoistway is required for many units over 60”. A Harmar VPL with Enclosure Kit can be more economical than building a framed hoistway for the VPL. And both are more economical than a residential elevator. Enclosure kits are only available with 36 x 60 and 48 x 60 platforms and require a commercial specification. Note: some other options are not available on Enclosed units. Please note that all units with a landing height over 60” must be enclosed by code. Harmar’s Enclosure Kit is a great solution and helps avoid extra construction costs and, in some cases, permits. Enjoy the following features:
- Heavy-duty lifting for you and your mobility device up to 14’
- Provides access to decks, porches, garage entry, second-story entry, and protection from harsh winter elements for year-round comfort
- Residential and commercial applications

“I thought it was a lost cause – my deck was so high and I didn’t want my backyard covered in ramp. But my Harmar dealer told me about the Enclosure Kit for my platform lift and I was so excited. I love it! I still have room in my yard to watch my grandkids play and teach them how to garden. And I can easily get up and down from my deck in my scooter – or without it – very easily.”
“Great especially in the rain. I hated getting my scooter wet when I had my wooden ramp. Now I can stay dry getting up to my porch.”
“I thought this was going to be an eyesore, but it’s not! I appreciate that I didn’t need to get an actual elevator. They can be pretty pricy.”
